What Clients Say
It is my pleasure to write my testimony for the services rendered by Dr. Joy Hervey. In the fall of 2009 I was working as a train dispatcher for CSX. I was living in Huntington, WV at the time and was preparing to move back to Jacksonville, Florida. The vision of starting a non-profit came to me, but I did not know the path to take to get started. I reached out to family, friends, and posted a request for help on the social website shared by church members in Jacksonville. I received a reply from Dr. Hervey, but at the time she was not living in Jacksonville. She indicated she and her family would be moving to Jacksonville real soon. Dr. Hervey sent me a questionnaire on what my non-profit would look like and who it will serve. We shared emails back and forth asking and answering follow-up questions. It did not take long for Dr. Hervey to create a Project Narrative and Budget that served as my foundation for applying for tax exempt, 501(c)(3) status. My nonprofit, Partnership in Excellence Training Center, Inc, is still active today and provides free tutoring services to disadvantaged youths and newly released inmates looking to earn their General Equivalency Diploma (GED). While I was the Counselor and Director for TRiO/Student Support Services (SSS) program at Edward Waters College, I was fortunate to learn the inner workings of federal grants. The non-profit, tax exempt status allows me to apply for federal funding to operate effectively at helping individuals in the community reach their educational goals. I owe a huge “Thank You” to Dr. Joy Hervey for the work she did to help get me started.

The Genesis Consulting Group was very instrumental in helping us to receive grant money to launch our Kidz Fit4Life after school program. Without the professional hard work of Genesis Consulting Group this program (Kidz Fit4Life) in my opinion probably would not have been implemented! KF4L was a program that had a vision for nutrition and fitness for children 12 years of age and under. We were able to provide after school tutoring, physical fitness activities, nutritional information, homework assistance, outings and team building/cooperation and GCG conducted program evaluations. I want to give a big ”thank you” to GCG for the work they continue to do in helping others. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs their type of services!

Joy Gorham Hervey possesses the perfect balance of intellect, grace, and class. In using her editing services a number of times over the years, she has helped me in more fully expressing the ideas that I wanted to convey to my audience. In using her services, I could always rest assured that my manuscript was in good hands. In addition to her editing services, she served as an inspiration for me in improving my writing skills. Joy’s attention to details and her ability to frame content were impeccable. She is a master at identifying grammatical errors, while also tackling language issues. Joy was responsive, a true professional, and was an absolute delight to work with.

I can personally attest to the high level of professionalism that the Herveys operate in. They are diligent in their follow-through of tasks and projects. Over the course of six years that the Herveys have worked with us I accredit them for the transition of our ministry from an inward focus to making a significant impact on our community.
